Current experiments

Good systems.
Awkward bits between.

A look at what is on the workbench: ideas for reducing the hand-work between business systems, without losing sight of what is happening.

Minion Master — a Secret Lair Labs experiment

Minion Master · working name

Less human glue.
More useful visibility.

Orders, work, messages and records rarely live in one place. The systems can each do their own job quite well, while a person spends the day carrying information between them.

Minion Master is an internal experiment in reducing that in-between work while keeping a person able to understand what is happening and decide when judgement matters.

On the bench

What we’re exploring

A clearer view of work as it moves between systems.

Less repetitive checking, copying and chasing.

Human involvement where the consequences deserve it.

A useful answer to “where is this up to?” without a tour of five different screens.

The point of the experiment

The clever bit has to earn its keep.

Spending less time being the human glue would be nice. Knowing when something needs your attention would be even nicer.

The test is whether it makes real work clearer and easier to manage. A spectacular demo is not much use if Tuesday morning is still a mess.

Status report

Early internal prototype

Being explored within our own business. The working name and direction may change as we learn.

Availability: internal only. There is no public release or launch date to announce.

We’re interested in the problem before the proposed solution. If your team is forever moving information from one perfectly good system to another, we’d like to understand the awkward bit.
